Minneapolis and Target Field will host the 2022 Discover NHL Winter Classic on Jan. 1, 2022, and feature our Minnesota Wild taking on the St. Louis Blues. The New Year’s Day match-up will be the Wild’s first NHL Winter Classic. Faceoff is set for 6 p.m. CT in downtown Minneapolis.

The outdoor game, originally scheduled for New Year’s Day 2021, will mark the second NHL regular-season outdoor game for both the Wild and the Blues. The Wild previously appeared in the 2016 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series, a 6-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Feb. 21, 2016.
