Chandler Kinney, Joey Graziadei, Ilona Maher, Danny Amendola and Stephen Nedoroscik were the competing celebrities who had their sights set on the mirrorball trophy

The highly anticipated season 33 finale of Dancing with the Stars has finally come!

On the Nov. 26 broadcast, the five remaining contestants returned to the ballroom for the last time to see which couple would finally be walking away with the coveted mirrorball trophy.

Last week's semifinals episode ended without an elimination and kept all five couples in the running. Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong, Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson, Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten, Danny Amendola and Witney Carson, and Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold graced the dance floor and one couple was crowned season 33's winner.

The finale episode also saw the return of the season's eliminated contestants like Anna Delvey, Jenn Tran, Brooks Nader and more. Season 32 winner, Xochitl Gomez, also returned to perform a number to Chappell Roan's "Pink Pony Club" alongside her former pro partner, Val Chmerkovskiy.

The Results Are In

After the final Freestyle of the night, each contestant's loved ones shared a special video message to cheer them off.

Alfonso and Julianne then announced that in fifth place was Danny and Witney, fourth place was Stephen and Rylee, Chandler and Brandon were third.

This left Joey and Jenna and Ilona and Alan in the running for first place.

"After weeks of intense competition, it's time for the final result," Julianne said as a drum rolled. With baited breath, Alfonso announced, "The winners and new champions of Dancing with the Stars are Joey and Jenna!"

Chandler Embodies Black Excellence!

For her final Freestyle performance with Brandon, the duo decided to pay tribute to the Black artists that came before them.

"We are the first Black couple to ever make a finale of Dancing with the Stars. So I want to celebrate all the Black performers before you and I were able to make it to this Freestyle," Brandon explained.

Noting how Black people are "at the root of entertainment today," Chandler agreed how their performance would be an "important" and "really special moment for representation.

"To be the first Black couple to win the mirror ball [trophy] would be so special," she gushed. "So I am putting every fiber of my being into making this dance as perfect as it possibly could be."

When it came time for their performance, the couple captivated the audience with their impressive leaps, lifts and tricks.

"A truly incandescent, spectacular celebration for the contributions that all Black artists have contributed to dance," Bruno praised. "I'm telling you, a truly grand performance for a grand finale."

Ilona Is Better Than Ever!

Ilona and Alan's final performance was a Freestyle to Chappell Roan's "Femininomenon."

In video footage that played ahead of the routine, Ilona and Alan reflected on how she's been an inspiration for girls and women everywhere. She also explained why she wanted to dance to the inspirational pop hit.

"I chose this song for all the girls who see themselves in me. I am strong and powerful, but I also can be graceful," she said. "So the mirror ball won't be so much for me, I think it'll be for all the girls who've been told they're too big or they're too muscly or they're not pretty."

When it came time for her performance, Ilona broke out into a moving but hilarious speech about working with Alan and her time on the show.

"I've made so many memories this season and met so many great people in this ballroom. [I've] never been better Carrie Ann," Ilona quipped, referencing her viral DWTS moment before breaking into dance in her.

The routine -- and Ilona's sparkly outfit -- got audience members on their feet and the ballroom erupted in cheers at the end of their performance.

"Look at me Ilona, you have become a true leading leady!" Bruno praised. "Proud, in control, holding the center of attention between these amazing dancers, you were always the girl on top."

Danny Amendola's Just Ken

For his final performance with his partner Witney, Danny proved he was more than Kenough!

In a video package that played before the hit the stage, Danny shared just how close he and Witney had become during their time on the show.

"Witney is like Gronk, Edelman, Brady all rolled into one. She's a great teammate, fantastic coach, and she's a great friend," he told cameras, before sharing how determined he was to win.

"People know that I won two Super Bowls. I've also lost the Super Bowl too. So I know how it feels to get that far and lose it's a very unsettling feeling. So the opportunity is here," he said. "We want to take home mirror ball [trophy]."

When it came time for their performance, Danny and Witney wowed when they channeled Barbie and Ken for their Freestyle to “Pink” by Lizzo and “I’m Just Ken” by Ryan Gosling.

"Danny, you have been one of the biggest surprises of this entire season. Listen, in football, you got play makers that make unforgettable highlights, well you have been a memory maker on this show," Derek said. "We will never forget the routines that you have done."

Joey Makes a Racket!

Ahead of their final performance, Joey and Jenna reflected on their journey to the finals.

As Joey admitted he "could not have done this with anyone else," Jenna grew emotional and she told him, "[I've] waited to be partnered with somebody like you that is so willing to make my dreams come true with my choreography."

For their Freestyle to “Canned Heat” by District 78 ft Jake Simpson, Joey revealed that the duo were merging his love of tennis and dance.

"Before The Bachelor and I was just a normal guy living in Hawaii, teaching tennis and it's the thing that makes me feel the most like myself," he told cameras. "I never was good enough to go Wimbledon. This is my chance to have my moment."

Sure enough, Jenna and Joey perfectly incorporated the sport into the dance. In addition to other flashy lifts and leaps, the couple wowed the audience with a routine featuring light up tennis rackets.

"You were a true leading man. You were show stopping, show stopper this whole season. That just was a perfect moment as well," Derek smiled.

Stephen's Routine Triggers Tears

In a video package that played ahead of their routine, Stephen told Rylee just how much their partnership has meant to him throughout this experience.

"I'm just so grateful that I got you as my partner, as someone who literally wouldn't even dance like [at] a party. You helped me pierce through that," he said. "You gave me so much confidence."

For his freestyle dance to “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay, Stephen recruited his gymnastics buddies to help him perform his final dance on Dancing with the Stars.

As they rehearsed their big number, the Olympian admitted that he felt a bit nervous heading into the finale.

"I'm ready to put it all out there," he said. "If I have to throw up on the floor to win that mirror ball, I will."

Eventually, Stephen and Rylee delivered an emotional performance for both the audience and for judges.

"I remember watching you on TV during the Olympics and thinking, 'Man, I think he'd be great on Dancing with the Stars.' And here you are in the finale with that incredible freestyle," Derek laughed. "I'm gonna get emotional. I loved it."

Chandler Gets a Standing O!

Chandler and her partner Brandon were given a Jive to “APT.” by ROSÉ & Bruno Mars by Carrie Ann.

This isn't the first time the duo have performed a Jive, when Chandler and Brandon performed the routine earlier this season, the judges docked points for losing steam towards the end of the dance.

When it came to tonight's performance, Chandler told cameras that she was a "fighter."

"I'm using everything in my body, my soul to maintain high energy, the entirety of the dance," she added.

Chandler and Brandon's routine proved to electric and the couple left it all on the dance floor. After their performance, the audience erupted into loud cheers and gave the couple a standing ovation.

"You went beyond redemption," Bruno gushed. "What we have here is a triumph! You made it fresh, exciting and sassy. You gave it your own imprint."

Ilona Shakes a Tail Feather

For Ilona and Alan's redemption performance, the couple were assigned a Jive to “Shake A Tail Feather” by Ray Charles & The Blues Brothers. Reflecting on how her first Jive on the show left her in tears, Ilona admitted she was nervous but determined to redeem herself.

"There are two dances away from winning that mirror ball [trophy], and I know that I have more to give," she told cameras. "So believe me, there will only be happy tears tonight, because this dance is going to be perfect."

When it was time for the Olympian and the DWTS to take the stage, they not only proved they were a couple to beat but also nailed their Jive with a vengance.

"When you did this dance the first time, it crushed all of us because we were standing right here, we could feel your nerves, and they got the best of you," Carrie Ann said. "But tonight, you rebuilt it better than ever."

Xochitl Makes Her Return to The Ballroom

Xochitl and her partner Val made an exciting return to the Dancing with the Stars ballroom with a beautiful performance to Chappell Roan's "Pink Pony Club."

In a video package that played ahead of their performance, Xochitl shared just how much her upcoming dance meant to her.

"I want to be able to showcase Val and I's partnership, and the time I had on Dancing with the Stars. It's like riding a bike," she smiled as she and Val rehearsed on screen. "It kind of symbolizes the ending of my season ... I will always be there for my Dancing with the Stars family."

Once Xochitl and Val took the floor, their captivating performance wowed the audience and judges. After the finished, Xochitl told Julianne she "missed" dancing in the ballroom.

"It's just been pure joy ever since I've come back," she added.

A Super Bowl Star Faces His Fears

Danny and his partner Witney were assigned a Tango to “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone featuring Morgan Wallen.

While reflecting on all of the ways he wanted to convey he had improved, Danny told cameras how this experience had "changed me" before heading into his performance.

"I've always been scared to be embarrassed in front of others, but I just said, 'Screw it,'" he confessed. "And this is no different tonight. It's the finale. You know I'm gonna bring it!"

When the couple hit the dance floor, Danny and Witney proved just how dedicated they were to winning the season 33 title.

"Redemption dance accomplished truly," Derek smiled. "For me, you've been the dark force of this competition. The confidence that you exude compared to the first dance is incredible."

Joey Is a Sparkling Jewel

In a video package that played ahead of his performance, Joey was coming down from cloud nine after making DWTS history as the first Bachelor to make it to the finals.

After Derek revealed that Joey and Jenna would be doing the Cha Cha to “CAN’T STOP THE FEELING!” by Justin Timberlake for their redemption dance, the couple jumped straight into rehearsals.

While he felt nervous heading into the dance with the new moves, Joey told cameras he was more than willing to take the "risk."

"I am going to leave that dance floor and know I did everything I could and I left it all out there," he said.

Eventually, Joey and Jenna dove into their performance and delivered a perfect routine that was up to both judges and audience's standards.

"Joey, that that wasn't a redemption dance. That was a punctuation mark, letting everybody know that you are a top contender on this show," Derek glowed.

Bruno agreed, adding, "It was really like a sparkling jewel of a cha cha cha polished to perfection!"

Stephen Radiates Joy

Ahead of his redemption performance, Stephen noted that making it into the finale wasn't just a big moment for him but also for his partner Rylee.

"We've just developed such a great relationship, and getting her to this point feels amazing," he told cameras. Though he ended last week at the bottom of the leaderboard, the Olympian was as determined as ever to make it to the top.

"When I was at the Olympics, I had a ton of pressure on me, and I handled it perfectly too," he smiled with confidence.

After Bruno announced the duo would be performing a Quickstep, Stephen and Rylee got to work in rehearsals. When the duo took the stage, they wowed judges and audiences alike with their high energy routine as they flew across the dance floor.

"All I could think of while I was watching that dance is that Len Goodman, this gentleman, this mirrorball [trophy] right here, would have been smiling from ear to ear," Carrie Ann smiled. "That was absolutely the best I've ever seen you."

"You're like a burst of sunshine, like two little antidepressants dancing across the floor," Derek joked. "Seriously, he's just radiating joy with every single step and dance out there."

Anna Delvey, Tori Spelling and More Make a Buzzy Return!

Kicking off tonight's finale episode, the celebrities who were eliminated from the show made an exciting return to the ballroom with a high energy opening number to Madonna’s “Holiday."

Past contestants including Anna, Tori, Dwight Howard, Reginald Vel Johnson, Brooks Nader and more reunited with their DWTS pros and gave viewers a fun surprise.

Heading into the finale, it was revealed that each couple will perform a "redemption dance" assigned to them by the judges, as well as a "freestyle" routine.

Danny and Witney will dance a Tango to “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone featuring Morgan Wallen and a Freestyle to “Pink” by Lizzo and “I’m Just Ken” by Ryan Gosling.

Joey and Jenna will do the Cha Cha to “CAN’T STOP THE FEELING!” by Justin Timberlake and Freestyle to “Canned Heat” by District 78 ft Jake Simpson.

Chandler and Brandon will dance a Jive to “APT.” by ROSÉ & Bruno Mars and a Freestyle to “Hellzapoppin’” by Eyal Vilner Big Band and “Move On Up” by Curtis Mayfield.

Ilona and Alan will perform a Jive to “Shake A Tail Feather” by Ray Charles & The Blues Brothers as well as a Freestyle routine to Chappell Roan’s “Femininomenon” by District 78 ft Mona Rue.

Stephen and Rylee will do the Quickstep to “I’ll Be There for You” by The Rembrandts and a Freestyle to “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay.

Since it's the finale, each couple is bound use their craziest stunts and tricks. However, there are strict rules surrounding the use of lifts on Dancing with the Stars. While lifts are permitted in the Jitterbug, Argentine Tango, the Charleston, Salsa, Jazz and Contemporary routines, they are not allowed in Rumba, Cha Cha, Jive, Paso Doble, Samba, Tango, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Fox Trot and Quickstep dances.

Anna Delvey Is Not Impressed

After reuniting with her Dancing with the Stars partner Ezra Sosa for the show's finale, Anna got to see the "nothing" tattoo that he got in her honor — and she didn't hold back her opinion of it.

In an Instagram carousel that she posted on Nov. 26, Delvey included a video of the two of them where Sosa pulls off his shirt to display the dainty tattoo on his back. She looks at it briefly before saying, "Wow, why is it so small? Come on, Ezra, you couldn't afford anything bigger?"

Dance pro Sosa got convicted con artist Delvey's memorable — and controversial — final comment on the competition reality series inked on his body back in October, following the couple's elimination in week 1 of the show. He first revealed the tattoo on social media.

When Delvey and Sosa were eliminated on the Sept. 24 episode of Dancing with the Stars, Delvey uttered her famous last word that was heard 'round the world. Asked by host Julianne Hough what she was taking from her experience on the show, she replied bluntly, "Nothing."

While chatting with fellow former contestant Tori Spelling for the Sept. 28 episode of her podcast misSPELLING, she stood by her viral response saying it was "the truth" of how she felt.

Ariana Grande Leaves a Message for Her Haters in Her New Single, “Yes, And?”

A deep dive into the lyrics of her latest pop anthem

With fame comes inevitable scrutiny over a celebrity's personal life, and that scrutiny only seems to intensify when the celebrity in question is a woman. It's a phenomenon that Ariana Grande seems to know all too well. But, her latest single brushes the rumor mill aside in an enthusiastic embrace of her “most authentic life.”

Today, Grande dropped “Yes, And?,” the lead single off of her forthcoming seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine. The bouncy pop anthem is rife with lyrics that hit back at the public's interest in her private affairs.

Specifically, it seems to reference recent disapproval over her dating life. Last September, Grande filed for divorce from real estate agent Dalton Gomez after two years of marriage. Shortly after, news of Grande's romance with Wicked costar Ethan Slater emerged, drawing questions from fans who noted that Slater had been married to his high school sweetheart, Lilly Jay, and welcomed the arrival of their first child together just months prior.

Of course, Grande doesn't mention this gossip explicitly. Instead, she cheekily references the drama throughout, with a biting bridge that recites: “Don't comment on my body, do not reply / Your business is yours and mine is mine / Why do you care so much whose d*ck I ride?”

In the second verse, too, Grande flippantly dismisses the public's opinion of her: “Now, I'm so done with caring / What you think, no, I won't hide / Underneath your own projections / Or change my most authentic life.”

The delectably addictive chorus only cements this sentiment, with Grande inviting the cynics to “say that shit with your chest,” and reminding herself to “be your own fuckin' best friend” and “keep moving like, ‘What's next?’ / ‘Yes, and?’”

While the track's lyrics wink at the scrutiny, the “Yes, And?” music video more forcefully confronts her naysayers. The video opens with a montage of critics who have something to say about the inner workings of her life that they are most definitely not privy to: “Who cares if she's happy? I don't want happy, I want art,” “Oh my god, did she really do that?” “Well, I read it on the Internet, so it must be true.” But, in the end, these critics are the ones who are eating their words.

Read the full lyrics below.

In case you haven't noticed
Well, everybody's tired
And healin' from somebody
Or somethin' we don't see just right

Boy, come on, put your lipstick on (No one can tell you nothin')
Come on and walk this way through the fire (Don't care what's on their mind)
And if you find yourself in a dark situation
Just turn on your light and be like

"Yes, and?"
Say that shit with your chest, and
Be your own fuckin' best friend
Say that shit with your chest
Keep moving like, "What's next?"
"Yes, and?"

Now, I'm so done with caring
What you think, no, I won't hide
Underneath your own projections
Or change my most authentic life

Boy, come on, put your lipstick on (No one can tell you nothin')
Come on and walk this way through the fire (Don't care what's on their mind)
And if you find yourself in a dark situation
Just turn on your light and be like

"Yes, and?"
Say that shit with your chest, and
Be your own fuckin' best friend
Say that shit with your chest
Keep moving like, "What's next?"
"Yes, and?" (Yeah)

My tongue is sacred, I speak upon what I like
Protected, sexy, discerning with my time (My time)
Your energy is yours and mine is mine (It's mine, it's mine)
What's mine is mine
My face is sitting, I don't need no disguise (I don't need no disguise)
Don't comment on my body, do not reply
Your business is yours and mine is mine
Why do you care so much whose d*ck I ride?
Why?

"Yes, and?" (Yes, and?)
Say that shit with your chest, and (Say that shit with your chest)
Be your own fuckin' best friend (Oh, be your own, be your own)
Say that shit with your chest (Say that shit with your chest, baby)
Keep moving like, "What's next?"
"Yes, and?"
"Yes, and?"
Say that shit with your chest, and
Be your own fuckin' best (Be your own) friend
Say that shit with your chest
Keep moving like, "What's next?"
"Yes, and?" (Yeah)

Bradley Beal had a season-high 37 points, including eight 3-pointers, Devin Booker added 31 and the Phoenix Suns routed the Los Angeles Lakers 127-109 on Thursday night.

Kevin Durant added 18 points for the Suns, who broke a five-game losing streak to the Lakers. It was also Frank Vogel's first victory over his former team. Vogel coached the Lakers for three seasons, including 2020 when they won the NBA title in the Walt Disney World bubble.

D’Angelo Russell had 19 points off the bench as the Lakers fell to 5-11 since winning the NBA In-Season Tournament last month. Los Angeles had seven players score in double figures but committed 17 turnovers that led to 28 Phoenix points.

Beal scored 20 points in the third quarter and the Suns' largest lead was 32 early in the fourth. He was one off tying the Suns’ single-game record for 3-pointers shared by six players.

LeBron James had 10 points on 3-of-11 shooting along with nine assists and five rebounds. Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves scored 13 points apiece. All three players did not see action during the fourth quarter as the Lakers trailed by 27 after three.

The Lakers had won two in a row but fell back below .500 at 19-20.

Cam Reddish was in the starting lineup but did not play in the second half due to knee soreness.

Get today's sports news out of Los Angeles. Here's the latest on the Dodgers, Lakers, Angels, Kings, Galaxy, LAFC, USC, UCLA and more LA teams.

It was Booker's 10th 30-point game this season. He had 16 points in the first quarter as the Suns had an 11-point advantage.

A fadeway by James gave the Lakers a 7-6 lead before the Suns grabbed control. Booker's 19-foot jumper started an 11-2 run that put Phoenix up by eight less than four minutes into the game.

Another jumper by Booker gave the Suns a 32-15 advantage with two minutes remaining in the first quarter before the Lakers made a late spurt to get within 36-25 at the end of the period.

Los Angeles kept whittling away at the start of the second quarter. Jerod Vanderbilt's 3-pointer cut it to 40-34 but that would be the closest they would get the rest of the way as Phoenix countered with seven straight points as part of a 10-2 run.

Josh Okogie finished off the spurt with a driving dunk while being fouled by Jaxson Hayes. Okogie finished the three-point play with a free throw to make it 50-36 with 7:44 remaining in the first half.

Kali Uchis Is Pregnant, Expecting Her First Child With Don Toliver

Don Toliver & Kali Uchis

By  Heran Mamo, Anna Chan

Congratulations are in order for Kali Uchis and Don Toliver, who are expecting their first child together. The pair shared the joyous news in a joint Instagram post on Thursday (Jan. 11), with a video featuring clips of the couple showing off her bump, the rapper rubbing and kissing on her belly, and the couple dancing together, interspersed with videos of them as little children.

In one part, Uchis coos as Toliver plants big smooches on her bump, “Awww, look how much your daddy loves you, little pooks! He’ll love you forever!”

“Starting our family,” the couple captioned the visual. “don’t take too long to get here little pooks, mom & dad can’t wait to share our life with you.” They did not share when their little one is due to arrive.

The happy news comes just a day before Uchis is scheduled to release her second Spanish-language album Orquideas. The visual is from the music video for “Tu Corazon es Mio” off her upcoming fourth LP, which will also feature Karol G, Peso Pluma, Rauw Alejandro and more.

Toliver confirmed Uchis was his girlfriend in a 2021 interview with W Magazine. “We’re not crazy public or nothing like that. We just vibe,” he said at the time. The two traveled to Uchis’ Colombian motherland to shoot a pair of music videos for the first two singles of Toliver’s 2021 sophomore album Life of a DON — “What You Need” and “Drugs N Hella Melodies,” featuring Uchis — and he met some of her local family. “I already had it in my mind to go out there and shoot a video with her incorporated into it, to make it a real-deal situation,” he said. During his interview with Nardwuar in March, he gushed about his girl, saying, “She’s amazing. I love her artistry! Her artistry is beyond.”

Uchis brought out Toliver during her 2023 Coachella set to perform “Fantasy” from her third album Red Moon in Venus that she released in March. The couple have also collaborated on “4 Me” from his third album Love Sick that he released this past February.

Bill Belichick leaving Patriots after 24 seasons, six titles

Bill Belichick has 333 wins all time (regular season and playoffs),
14 behind Hall of Famer Don Shula.
Maddie Meyer/Getty Images

Bill Belichick will no longer serve as New England Patriots coach after a remarkable 24 seasons, saying Thursday that "we're going to move on" while also looking back fondly at his unmatched run in NFL history that included six Super Bowl titles.

Belichick and Patriots owner Robert Kraft spent a good part of this week periodically meeting and discussing how each side wanted to proceed. From sources familiar with those conversations, there was said to be no conflict, no disagreement, and in the end, productive talks resulted in a mutual decision that left both sides comfortable and at ease.

During a news conference Thursday, Kraft called Belichick the greatest coach of all time who deserved to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

"This is a move that we mutually agreed that is needed at this time," Kraft said. "What Bill accomplished, in my opinion, will never be duplicated."

Belichick, who said he will "always be a Patriot," thanked Kraft and his family for the opportunity and support, saying: "We had a vision of building a championship football team that has exceeded my wildest dreams and expectations. I'm very proud of that. I'll always have those great memories, will carry those with me the rest of my life."

Belichick, who had one year remaining on his contract, will be allowed to leave the team without the Patriots seeking compensation. He wants to continue coaching and is expected to draw interest from at least some of the other seven NFL teams that have head-coaching vacancies, including quite possibly the Atlanta Falcons, league sources said.

"It'll be difficult to see him in a cutoff hoodie on the sideline, but I'll always wish him continued success, except when it's against the beloved Patriots," Kraft said.

The Patriots now will embark on their first head-coaching search in a quarter century. Patriots linebackers coach Jerod Mayo, whom the team signed to a contract extension in the offseason and Kraft has identified as a rising head-coaching candidate, projects to be a, if not the, leading candidate for the job, sources said. Mayo played for the Patriots from 2008 to 2015 and has been an assistant under Belichick since 2019.

If Mayo is ultimately the choice, and the Patriots established a succession plan in the contract he signed last offseason, the organization could hire him at any point without going through the standard NFL hiring process.

Kraft said in a second news conference Thursday that he chose not to try to trade Belichick, saying he "didn't think it was right" to turn the coach's departure into a transaction and comparing the circumstances to Tom Brady leaving for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"We're looking for someone who can help us get back to the playoffs and win," Kraft said.

Brady posted about Belichick's departure on Instagram, calling him "the best coach in the history of the NFL."

"We accomplished some amazing things over a long period of time, many of which will be hard to replicate," Brady wrote. "He worked every day to help us achieve the ultimate goal, in the ultimate team sport. ... I could never have been the player I was without you Coach Belichick. I am forever grateful. And I wish you the best of luck in whatever you choose next."

Belichick's exit from New England occurred less than 24 hours after his close friend Nick Saban retired from Alabama.

There is a symmetry and a similarity in the departures of two football legends -- men who are widely considered the greatest coach in professional history and the greatest coach in college football history. Belichick helped lead the Patriots to nine Super Bowl appearances and six Super Bowl titles; Saban led Alabama to nine SEC titles and six national championships.

Additionally, Saban succeeded Pete Carroll as the Ohio State secondary coach in 1980; when Belichick was head coach in Cleveland, he worked with Saban from 1991 to 1994; and Belichick replaced Carroll as the Patriots' head coach in 2000, decades before all three vacated their long-standing jobs this week in a 24-hour period.

The fact that Belichick and Kraft are going their own ways carries an element of sadness, but not surprise. Kraft had pointed out how important it was for the Patriots to make the playoffs this season. Instead, they were one of the first teams eliminated, on Dec. 10.

Speculation about Belichick's future swirled during the 2023 season, with one of the lowest points for the team coming Nov. 12 in a 10-6 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Frankfurt, Germany.

Before that game, addressing this past season, the 82-year-old Kraft told NFL Network: "It's really been disappointing. I had hoped things would be a lot better, as I know our fan base did. ... This isn't what we were expecting to happen this year."

Another key factor for Kraft was the franchise's trajectory since Brady's departure as a free agent after the 2019 season. Since losing Brady, which pained Kraft, the Patriots have posted losing records in three of their four seasons, and their last playoff win was a 13-3 triumph over the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII on Feb. 3, 2019 -- when Brady was on the team.

Belichick, 71, leaves New England with 333 career victories (including playoffs), ranking second all time behind Don Shula and his 347. Belichick, George Halas and Curly Lambeau are the only NFL coaches with six championships since the league began postseason play in 1933.

Belichick's 24-year tenure was the fifth-longest of any head coach with one team. He had completed his 49th consecutive NFL season in 2023, the most consecutive coaching seasons in league history.

He is now looking to spend season No. 50 with another NFL franchise.

Kraft called it an "emotional day" for the organization while explaining why he believed it was the right decision.

"Our family is the custodian of this asset, the New England Patriots, and we know how important it is to the psyche of the community," Kraft said. "What's gone on here the last three to four years isn't what we want, so we have a responsibility to do what we can to fix it to the best of our ability."

As he departs New England, Belichick's résumé includes these marks that are expected to stand for the foreseeable future:

• 17 division titles, the most by a head coach in NFL history, with Shula, Andy Reid and Tom Landry tied for second with 13.

• Nine conference championships, the most by a head coach in the Super Bowl era.

• 12 Super Bowl appearances (including his time as an assistant).

• 21 winning seasons as a head coach, which trails only Halas (40), Shula (33), Lambeau (33) and Landry (29).

• One of four undefeated and untied regular seasons in NFL history (2007). It was the only one under the 16-game schedule played from 1978 to 2020.

"Players win games in the NFL," Belichick said. "I've been very, very fortunate to coach some of the greatest players to ever play the game."

Michael Strahan reveals his daughter's cancer diagnosis on 'Good Morning America'

Good Morning America anchor and former NFL player Michael Strahan revealed on Thursday's show that his teenage daughter was recently diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer.

"I'm very proud of her and she's always been strong and this is something that is so personal that I didn't know if it would be something that she'd want to share," Strahan said.

But Isabella Strahan, a 19-year-old student at the University of Southern California, decided to tell her own story to GMA's Robin Roberts.

Isabella said in September, she began experiencing extreme headaches, as well as nausea and an inability to walk straight. At first, she thought she had vertigo. But in late October, she began vomiting blood. She texted her twin sister Sophia, who informed the rest of the family. Michael Strahan then took her to the doctor.

Isabella's MRI results showed a fast-growing, four centimeter brain tumor that was larger than a golf ball. She had an emergency surgery to have the tumor removed the next day, Roberts said.

But Isabella recently rang the bell, a celebratory tradition for cancer patients who complete their radiation or chemotherapy treatment. Isabella had 30 sessions of radiation and will begin chemotherapy at Duke University in February, she said.

Isabella was in rehabilitation for a month and had to learn to walk again. Now, she says she's feeling good.

"I'm very excited for this whole process to wrap, but you just have to keep living every day, I think, through the whole thing," she said.

She has started a YouTube channel to document her journey through vlogs, or video blogs. Proceeds from the content will go to Duke's Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center.

"It's been like two months of keeping it quiet, which is definitely difficult," Isabell said.

She said she wants to be "a voice and be a person people who maybe are going through chemotherapy or radiation can look at and find something interesting about their day."

Michael Strahan said the experience has changed his perspective about his own life, and has highlighted the importance of support.

"Perspective is a big thing," Isabella said. "I'm grateful just to walk or see friends or do something, cause when you can't do something, it really impacts you."

Michael Strahan said: "I literally think that, in a lot of ways, I'm the luckiest man in the world because I got an amazing daughter, and I know she's going through it, but I know that we're never given more than we can handle, and that she is gonna crush this." He added: "I need her. I don't know what I would do without her."

For now, Isabella said she is looking forward to getting back to California and continuing her college education.
